Ms. Cruz joined Hurwitz Holt, APLC in 2016. She works primarily with individuals who have been victims of crimes with their applications for U nonimmigrant status. She also represents individuals in removal proceedings applying for asylum and cancellation of removal. In addition, she represents individuals before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) applying for adjustment of status, naturalizations, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and affirmative asylum.
While in law school, Ms. Cruz volunteered for California Western’s Community Law Project consulting with indigent clients on a variety of legal issues and at Casa Cornelia working with unaccompanied minors seeking asylum and special immigrant juvenile status (SIJS). She also worked at a business immigration law firm assisting clients with employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas.
In her free time, Ms. Cruz enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying new foods, hiking, boxing, and traveling.
