On November 20, 2014, President Obama took action on immigration and issued executive actions aimed at fixing, in small part, the United States immigration system. Several forms of relief President Obama has offered that approximately 150,000 people in San Diego qualify for are:
Deferred action to parents of U.S. citizen children and legal permanent residents who meet certain qualifications (Deferred Action for Parental Accountability); and
An extension to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) for those born before June 15, 1981 and deferment for 3 years rather than 2 years.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services expect that applications will be available between 90 and 180 days following President Obama’s November 20, 2014 announcement. To find out if you qualify you may come to a free assessment at our office. Starting December 4, 2014 our office is holding free public assessments every Monday at 6:00 p.m. at our office located at 409 Camino Del Rio South, Suite 300, San Diego, California, 92104. No appointment is necessary to attend the free assessment. To schedule a private consultation (for a fee), you may contact our office for an appointment with one of our attorneys at (619) 239-7855.
